The Liberal Studies program views learning as a transformative, socially interactive process. Engagement in this process requires critical intellectual inquiry, reflection, collaboration, and the exploration of the interconnectedness and relationships among the disciplines, society, and our own humanity. - BA in Liberal Studies, General Option (on-campus)
- This option is designed for first-time university students and transfer students
- This option prepares students for the Multiple Subject teaching credential program (only offered on-campus)
- BA in Liberal Studies, General Option (online)
- This option is designed for transfer students who have completed 60 semester units of instruction and do not live in Chico
- This option prepares students for the Multiple Subject teaching credential program (only offered on-campus)
- BA in Liberal Studies, Bilingual/Cross-cultural Option
- This option prepares students for the Multiple Subject teaching credential program (only offered on-campus)
- BA in Liberal Studies, Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP) Option
- This option blends the requirements of the BA in Liberal Studies and the Multiple Subject teaching credential into an accelerated schedule of coursework. To complete the BA and credential in 4 years, students will take more courses at a time than is typical. We strongly recommend prospective students contact a Liberal Studies advisor to discuss this option.
- BA in Liberal Studies, Liberal Arts Option
- This option is designed for students who start in one of the other options but decide to not pursue a career in teaching. This option provides students a broad education in the liberal arts, applicable to many careers and ways of life.
