Here in the College of Communication and Education, we want to make sure that you are prepared and ready to go for upcoming semesters during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Here are some important deadlines, due dates, and tasks to keep in mind.

Important Due Dates and Deadlines

Deadlines and due dates subject to change

February

  • February 4 - Last day to add or drop classes without special permission of instructor. 
  • February 18 - Census Date. No adding, dropping of classes, or changing of grade option beyond this date without a serious and compelling reason approved by instructor, chair, and dean.
  • February 18 - Deadline for master’s degree students who are not regularly enrolled to register for adjunct enrollment.
  • February 18 - Last day for Open University students to pay fees without late charge.
  • February 18 - Last day to apply for a master’s degree expected in May 2022.
  • February 28 - A late fee for each submission of an Add/Drop Request Form begins.

March

  • March 14-18 - Spring Break; campus open; no classes held.
  • March 31 - César Chávez Day; campus closed.

April

  • April 1-August 16 - Summer Session (self-support, RCE) and state term (limited state-support) registration period. See the Class Schedule online for more information.
  • April 6 - Withdrawal after this date will not receive any financial credit for refund.
  • April 22 - Last day for master’s degree candidates to take oral or comprehensive examination; submit thesis or terminal project; and submit final progress sheet to the Office of Graduate Studies.
  • April 22 - Last day to drop classes with a serious and compelling reason with approval of instructor, chair, and dean.
  • April 25-May 13 - Dropping classes permitted only because of verifiable serious illness or accident with approval of instructor, chair, and dean.

May

  • May 15 - Last day to apply for a bachelor's degree expected in May 2023.
  • May 16-20 - Final exam week. See Final Examination Schedule in Portal.
  • May 16-25 - Spring semester grade submission period. Grades are due by May 25.
  • May 19 - Registration & Fee Payment Deadline for limited State summer term classes. 
  • May 19-22 - Commencement.
  • May 30 - Memorial Day
  • May 31 - Official spring semester degree conferral date.

Every student at Chico State has an advisor. Make sure you meet with your advisor at least once every year! Advisors are organized by major.
