Communication Studies Alumni Scholarship – Annual Award $1,000.
This is a scholarship which is funded by Alumni from the BA and MA program in Communication Studies and friends of the program. The goal is to raise the amount to $25,000 in this endowed account to guarantee a $1,000 payout each year to a deserving student.
Guidelines:
- CMST units at Chico State completed
- 2.5 or higher GPA

Study Abroad Scholarship – Variable depending on funds available.
The student abroad scholarship is funded by Alumni from the BA and MA program in Communication Studies and friends.
Guidelines:
- 3.0 or higher GPA
- Junior and Senior students only
- 12 CMST units completed
- CMST 335 completed
- Letter of Recommendation from faculty
- Personal Statement
- Financial need may be considered, but not required.

Brydon/Scott Award – Variable depending on funds available.
This Award was started by Dr. Steven Brydon and Dr. Michael Scott Professors from the Communication Studies Program at Chico State. As retired Emeritus faculty, they continue to fund this award.
Guidelines:
- 3.0 or higher GPA
- Must have strong competitive record in Forensics
- Preference for financial need
- Graduate student will only be considered if not undergraduate students qualify.
