Over the past couple of years, Christian's skills in research, argument construction, and delivery have brought numerous awards, including many regional awards in speech and debate, qualification for a national tournament and a top award for undergraduate research at the WSCA convention.  I have personally heard from other instructors how much they enjoy Christian’s intellectual curiosity and dedication to learning.  Christian is a wonderful addition to any college classroom as an engaged and responsible, but also personable and supportive student.

Reilly is outstanding academically overall. She was a keen classroom participant whose insightful and constructive contributions in the classroom made it a better place for other students.

Tyler’s thesis on queer male representation in Academy Award nominated films provides tremendous insight into what we find acceptable and valuable in representations of sexuality. His thesis teases out the art-life dynamic in a theoretically rigorous and well-written project.
Tyler was an outstanding graduate student in every regard. He made substantial contributions to the classroom and engaged with the material and his classmates at every opportunity. Our classrooms were richer spaces when Tyler was a part of them. We are thrilled he is pursuing a PhD at UMASS Amherst!
