"Learning without thought is labor lost; thought without learning is perilous." –The Analects, Confucius
After graduating from college with a bachelor's degree in engineering, I worked in a start–up dotcom company at the time when the Internet industry was first booming around the world. This experience led to my interest in communication and technology, and later to graduate studies in communication at University of Colorado, Boulder. During my 6 years there, I developed a research interest in globalization and organizational communication.

Current Interests
Generally speaking, I'm interested in making sense of this diversifying and globalizing world that we live in today. Is what's happening an "end of history," "clash of civilization," or something else? Standing where we are, how can we make sense of both the future and the past? How should we relate to the world and to one an"Other?" Being an organizational communication scholar, I'm in particular interested in the roles transnational corporations play in today's society.
