The College of Business’ Project Management Group (PMG) hosted its semiannual student organization competition on Saturday, October 1, 2016 on the Chico State campus. The event was held as a way to connect College of Business student organizations and strengthen their sense of community and purpose.

In light of October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, a large part of the competition was held as a fundraiser for the Enloe Comprehensive Breast Care fund. The organizations came together to raise a total of $250 for the cause. While they did not reach their initial goal for the fundraising portion of the event, PMG President Breyer Conroy said, “The accomplishment for PMG was being able to bring the College of Business student organizations together, network with each other, and be able to establish partnerships with community organizations, like Enloe, to support their life-changing efforts—goals I believe are complementary to those of the College of Business.”

Student organizations involved in the competition include Pi Sigma Epsilon, Phi Chi Theta, Project Management Group, The Management Club, and the College of Business’ newest student organization, Society for Human Resource Management.

The organizations that participated in the field-day activities competed in challenges such as a balloon toss, a relay race, dodgeball, and tug-of-war. The students were judged on their abilities to win these activities but also earned points for their team spirit, encouraging a positive atmosphere for the day.

Pi Sigma Epsilon-Eta Theta, a nationally recognized professional sales organization, won first place in the competition and will have its organization’s name engraved on a trophy to be displayed within the College of Business.
