Entrepreneurship at Chico Shines in Forbes
Center for Entreprenuerhship Peter Straus engages an entrepreneurship student
Many of our successful alums have started their own business right here in Chico, California, proving it to be an excellent location for startups.
In a recent Forbes article, Why The 'Wrong' Location Can Be A Startup's Hidden Strength(opens in new window), several of our Business alumni and supporters such as Peter Farsai (BS, Business Administration, '15), Creator of OutdoorAlly and Robert Strazzarino (BS, Computer Science, '06), Founder and CEO of College Scheduler are highlighted.
Our entrepreneurship program as well as our very own Peter Straus, director of the Center for Entrepreneurship(opens in new window) shines in the article, "He says his mission is to teach students the basics of making a business plan, to encourage them to think on their feet and to provide them with some first-hand encounters with role models. After that, it's time to push them out on their own."
Proud alumnus and Center for Entrepreneurship supporter Chris Friedland (BA, Political Science, '99), founder and CEO of Build.com was also the subject of a feature story, Who'd Start A Tech Firm In Chico? Chris Friedland's Zany Path to Riches(opens in new window), and will be in the upcoming January issue.
