MBA Program Selected for CEO Magazine's Tier-One Ranking

California State University, Chico’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) program has been ranked a tier-one MBA program in North America by CEO Magazine. 

The magazine’s 2016 Global MBA Rankings set out to identify schools which pair exceptional quality with great return-on-investment. To create the rankings, the magazine collected data from each school on learning environment, class size, tuition fees, faculty qualifications and ratios, delivery methods, international diversity and gender, among other factors.

CSU, Chico’s program is among 69 to make the list, which includes Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business and UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business. CSU, Long Beach, CSU, San Bernardino and CSU, East Bay also made the list.

“Chico State’s MBA program has maintained quality characteristics such as small class sizes, engaged and caring faculty and MBA-specific professional advisors,” said College of Business Dean Judy Hennessey. “Our high ranking is the result of holding on to these key elements while adapting to the changing demands of the marketplace for our students.”

CEO Magazine publishes digitally each quarter and maintains a website at It began publishing the Global MBA Rankings in 2012. The 2016 rankings may be seen online in the most recent issue.

The Masters in Business Administration at CSU, Chico provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary for effective managerial decision-making. Students may specialize in enterprise information systems or project management. The MBA program, along with all of CSU, Chico’s business programs, has maintained accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business since 1972.
