Standout Student Feature Max Dickstein
Senior Max Dickstein will graduate along with 570 other business administration majors this month with an option in marketing and two minors in management and international sales, along with receiving his certificate in sales. Dickstein has proven to be a standout student in the College of Business through his activity with the Seufferlein Sales Program and the American Marketing Association, and he has shown incredible motivation and ambition during his time at California State University, Chico.
“Max is one of those amazing students who combines all that is best about business, professionalism, and the enterprising American spirit,” said Seufferlein Sales Program director Tim Heinze. “Max is a selfless leader who has excelled in too many leadership pursuits to mention.”

Dickstein has demonstrated tremendous leadership within the College of Business by pursuing many different roles, including business communications tutor, presentation coach for the Business Student Success Center, instructional student assistant to the sales program. He also is a seven-times sales competition participant, consistently placing as a top-three sales winner. His latest claim to fame was winning first place in the 2018 Western States Collegiate Sales Competition, where 72 students from 19 different universities competed in a sales roleplay.
Dickstein was honored at the American Marketing Association (AMA) International Collegiate Conference in New Orleans this year, where he took third place in the country for Sales Student of the Year. This award recognizes AMA collegiate members who demonstrate superior exposure to and participation in sales-related events. He has also been awarded Outstanding Student Leader for the CSU, Chico College of Business for his leadership efforts and ongoing mentoring of fellow Wildcats, and has was awarded one of the largest and most prestigious awards at CSU, Chico—the Lieutenant Robert Merton Rawlins Merit Award.
“As a mentor to junior students, a builder of morale, and a tireless helper, Max has dramatically impacted the marketing major at Chico State and the entire Seufferlein Sales Program. He’s a one-of-a-kind guy who will be greatly missed on campus,” Heinze said.
After graduation, Dickstein will work for PepsiCo as a district sales leader in Sacramento.
