Meet Our Staff

Get to know the staff that makes up Business Student Advising and Services. While any of our staff can help you, they also specialize in areas that students often need more assistance, planning, or information.

Kristina Brown

Undergraduate Advisor - Accounting Option Advisor

Kristina holds a Master's Degree in Social Science with an emphasis in student services and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from CSU, Chico. While working on her degrees Kristina interned for the Academic Advising office and the Career Center at CSU, Chico. After graduating in 2007 she worked for River Valley High School in Yuba City where she ran their Career Center. She has worked as an academic advisor in the College of Business since 2011. Kristina loves working with students in all of the business options but specializes in the accounting option. Outside of work Kristina enjoys spending time with her husband and son and being outdoors as much as possible.

Jenn Duggan

Assistant Dean

Jenn was born in northern California and has called Chico her hometown for over 20 years. She received both her Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and Master's Degree in Education from CSU, Chico. She is very proud to work for the College of Business and help students thrive at Chico State. She is a first generation re-entry college student, earning her bachelor's degree at the age of 32 with three children. She loves encouraging non-traditional college students and is committed to helping you feel at home not only at Chico State but within the College of Business family. Her goal is to have every student leave her office with an understanding of degree requirements and a strong belief in themselves to achieve their individual aspirations!  

Billy Harkness

Coordinator - Business Student Success Center

Billy was born and raised in Chico. After high school, he moved to southern California to attend CSU, Long Beach where he received both his Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation and Master’s Degree in Public Policy and Administration. During his tenure in Southern California, Billy was the Assistant Director of Club Sports and Recreation at CSU, Long Beach. After moving back to Chico in 2013, he began working on campus as the Student Programs and Events Coordinator for the Associated Students before joining the College of Business team in 2017 as the Business Student Success Center Coordinator. He enjoys working with students and guiding them toward success and has a passion for student involvement and leadership development. Outside of work, Billy loves spending time with his family, discovering new music, traveling as much as possible, and enjoying 8-10 cups of coffee per day. 

Justin Henry

Undergraduate Advisor

Justin was born and raised in Redding, CA, and was a first-generation, low-income student. He is an Alumni of Chico State, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, and he actually joined the College of Business Advising Department as a Peer Advisor back in 2013/2014. He has since worked for UC Davis, a local Department of Education, multiple TRIO Programs, and has served Chico State students since 2017. He has a strong passion to help students overcome any challenge inside or outside the classroom and hopes for all students that enter the College of Business to feel welcomed and at home. Outside of work, Justin loves adventuring with his Wife and Golden Retriever (Finn) whether its truck camping on the northern coastal beaches, snowboarding or getting stuck in the snow in the Sierra’s or wakeboarding/surfing on the many Lakes in Northern California.

Jill Rice

Undergraduate Advisor

Jill grew up in northern California and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Social Science from CSU, Chico. She started on campus in 2001 and has worked in the College of Business Dean’s office and the Department of ACCT & MIS before transferring to the Business Student Advising office in 2011. She loves working with business students and watching the growth that students make as they prepare for graduation.  Jill and her husband met while attending Chico State and are currently raising their two teenage boys in Paradise.  When she’s not attending one of her boys' sporting events, she is spending time on the lake, reading a good book, or vacationing with her family. 

Kelly Webster

Undergraduate Advisor

Kelly is a northern California local. She grew up in Paradise and after high school, moved to Chico where she and her husband have lived for over 28 years. She began working on campus in 2010. Kelly has an extensive background at CSU, Chico in helping new students transition to college. She thoroughly enjoys working with both incoming new freshmen and transfer students transition to Chico State. Yet, regardless of how you started at Chico State, Kelly thrives on getting to know you and your unique goals to help you all the way through to degree completion! Outside of work, Kelly enjoys crossfit and being active outdoors with her family and friends.
