Two ways to expand or deepen the areas of your professional knowledge are minors and certificates. We offer a variety that are guaranteed to help you succeed in your area of focus. Some are similar to our degree programs, while others are unique such as the Minor in International Business, Managing Diversity in Organizations, and Managing for Sustainability. Please see University Catalog for details under Program Info.

A minor is a program of courses in a designated subject area distinct from and outside a student's degree major. Minors require 18 to 30 units for completion. A grade point average of 2.0 or higher must be earned for courses in a minor. Completion of a minor is noted in a student’s degree transcript. The College of Business offers 11 minors. Students can pursue minors in:

Accounting Managing Diversity in Organizations
Business Administration Managing for Sustainability
Entrepreneurship & Small Business Management Marketing

A certificate is a structured combination of courses that may be taken in addition to a degree program or as a stand-alone program. Students will be admitted to certificate programs only if they meet standards for admission. Certificates may be undergraduate (at least 21 units) or post-baccalaureate (at least 12 units).

Completion of an undergraduate certificate requires students to earn a grade point average of 2.5 with at least a "C" earned in each course required for the certificate. A grade point average of 3.0 must be earned for courses required for a post-baccalaureate certificate with at least a "B-" earned in each course. Successful completion of a certificate program is recognized with a “Certificate of Completion” by the University.
