Science and Religion Symposium on Neuroscience and Christian Spirituality: A Neuro-Biblical Approach to Love

Time: Saturday, September 16, 2023  from 9 a.m.–noon
Location: Arts and Humanities Building Room 111
Recent advances in the neuroscience of mental and physical health are expanding the biopsychosocial model of health care to include spirituality. This symposium offers a wide-ranging discussion of love as a bridge between the ancient world and the 21st century. We invite those fascinated by the intersection of ancient spiritual traditions and science, especially healthcare practitioners and nursing students, as well as anyone interested in the direction of modern healthcare, to attend.
Speakers: Dr. Leonard Matheson, Neuro-rehabilitation Psychologist, Washington University School of Medicine, Retired Professor and Author of Your Faithful Brain
Dr. Greg Cootsona, Chico State, Department of Religious Studies and Humanities; pastoral staff, Bidwell Presbyterian Church, author of Science and Religions in America
Sponsored by:
Chico State Comparative Religion and Humanities Department, Science for the Church, and Bidwell Presbyterian Church
