Lee Gilmore specializes in the study of rituals and new religious movements. The author of Theater in a Crowded Fire: Ritual and Spirituality at Burning Man (University of California Press, 2010), her other publications include the co-edited collection AfterBurn: Reflections on Burning Man (University of New Mexico Press, 2005). Her courses here at Chico State include RELS 332 World Religions & Global Issues, RELS 358 Religion in American Public Schools, and (starting in fall 2019) RELS 275 Women & Religion. She also teaches online for San José State University.
