Comparative Religion and Humanities

Jim Anderson

EdD Harvard University
My academic and teaching interests are in religious and moral development, religious ethics and global issues, and philosophy of education. From living a number of years abroad, in Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Japan, I carry a particular interest in Asian religions, in the encounter of Eastern and Western religious traditions, and in the challenges facing religiously pluralistic societies. As a result, my teaching seeks to present religious studies as an important contributor to liberal and civic education, and the study of religion as a resource for approaching contemporary social issues.
