Today, due to statewide spikes in COVID-19 cases dozens of California counties, including Butte County, fell back into more restrictive tiers of the state’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy. Along with 27 other counties, Butte County fell from the “moderate,” orange tier back into the most restrictive “widespread,” purple tier.

After careful review, the only modification to campus activities and operations relates to the Wildcat Recreation Center (WREC). Effectively immediately and until further notice, the WREC is suspending all indoor activities. Additionally, The Grove study space in the Meriam Library remains open and students can sign up for spaces using the library’s reservation system.

Butte County’s move into the purple tier has no impact on employees’ current working arrangements.
