Please Keep Masking Up—It is Working!

Announced: November 10, 2021

To: Campus Community
From: Pandemic Management Team

We are working our way toward the home stretch of the semester and have collectively done a great job managing the pandemic. However, we'd like to remind you now is not the time for a lapse in health and safety best practices.

Facialcoverings are still required for everyone accessing indoor campus facilities like classrooms and labs, Meriam Library, the Bell Memorial Union, and the WREC. University Housing students must wear masks in all community areas (such as entryways, hallways, lounges, laundry rooms, computer labs).

The University has several locations on campus where students and employees who need a mask can pick one up. However, disposable masks contain plastic and can become environmental pollutants. With sustainability in mind, it is important to hold onto, remember, and reuse masks as much as possible. If you find a good cloth mask that you can wash and re-wear—even better.

The facial covering rules will remain in place through the end of the fall semester and will be reevaluated in the spring. As with everything related to the pandemic, we will error on the side of caution so we can keep our entire campus safe and healthy.

Thank you for masking up!
