On-Campus Vaccine Clinics Offered Aug. 17 and Aug. 20

---
Announced: August 16, 2021, 11 a.m.

To: Campus Community
From: Chico State Emergency Operations Center

Chico State is offering on-campus vaccine clinics on both Tuesday, August 17 (BMU Auditorium), and Friday, August 20 (Laxson Auditorium) from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. No appointments are necessary, but you can sign up for reminders and help us plan for staffing here: https://volunteersignup.org/DJAPD. We’ll be distributing first- or second-dose Pfizer vaccines.

We know there are many reasons people have not had their vaccine yet or are hesitant to get vaccinated, including vaccine access disparities and the historical and contemporary contexts of systemic racism that contribute to a valid skepticism of current public health and research efforts. No matter your reason, we care about you and we want it to be as easy and comfortable as possible for everyone to get vaccinated.

If you have questions about the safety or effectiveness of the COVID-19 vaccine, we encourage you to come to one of our on-campus clinics and talk with our volunteers and medical professionals. You can also email Juanita Mottley, executive director of WellCat Services, at jmottley@csuchico.edu with any questions.

If you can't attend one of our on-campus clinics, COVID-19 vaccines are widely available at pharmacies and community clinics nationwide, often with no appointment necessary. Visit vaccines.gov/search to find a vaccine near you. Remember, students are required to have at least one shot before the start of classes on August 23 and be fully vaccinated (two weeks after your final dose) by September 30.
