COVID-19 Update

Dear Campus Community,

We would like to thank everyone for their adherence to our COVID-19 safety protocols, as we strive to navigate the ongoing pandemicCOVID-19 is still with us and the latest variants are far more transmissible than earlier variantswhich has led to an increase in cases in recent weeks. Butte County is currently at the medium-risk level according to the CDC, so there is still cause for caution. We must continue our communal efforts to protect ourselves and each other.

 Here are some quick reminders:

  • COVID-19 vaccinations, including booster shots, are required per CSU Policy. Please self-certify your vaccination status in PeopleSoft if you haven't already.
  • Chico State is not currently requiring masks but continues to strongly recommend that masks be worn indoors. Wearing a well-fitted mask helps protect you and others by reducing the spread of COVID-19.
  • If in doubt, get tested! Fast and free on-campus testing is available on the bottom floor of Whitney Hall for anyone who believes they may have been exposed to someone with COVID.
  • If you have any symptoms, do not report to class or work! Instead, get tested and report your results to the COVID-19 Hotline at 530-898-2222 or covidhotline@csuchico.edu.
  • If you test positive: Report your results to the COVID-19 Hotline and isolate for at least five days before returning to work or class. If you are symptom-free and test negative via a rapid (antigen) test, you can end your isolation after five days. Please wear a mask for another five days after isolation.

Let’s continue to be vigilant about the health of our campus community so that we can enjoy the new semester with all the excitement, enthusiasm, and energy it brings.

Sincerely,

Mike Thorpe, Director

Chico State Pandemic Management Team
