Chico State Is Preparing

The WellCat Health Center, in partnership with federal, state, and county health officials, has monitored the coronavirus situation very closely since the first outbreak in December to ensure the safety and health of the entire campus community. In addition to the University’s own proactive emergency-preparedness efforts, we will continue to closely follow all health and preparedness protocols from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), and public health department officials.

Traveling for Spring Break?

With Spring Break around the corner, you may be planning or have already made travel arrangements for destinations outside of Butte County. We recommend researching your destinations and consult with the CDC or US State Department (for international destinations) before you go.

Health officials are not recommending the general public wear medical or N95 masks when out and about. The most beneficial things you can do to protect yourself is to wash your hands properly and often, and do not touch your face and eyes.

Experiencing flu-like symptoms?

While the coronavirus (COVID-19) is rare and unlikely to affect our daily lives, the regular flu season is upon us and is a much greater risk to our community. Chico State encourages individuals who have flu-like symptoms or other respiratory infections to please stay at home and don’t come to campus for school or work. Check out these CDC tips for preventing the flu.

Faculty and staff should reach out to their medical providers or Butte County Public Health at 530-552-4000.
