COVID-19 in the Workplace Training

New COVID-19 Workplace Training to be assigned to faculty and staff

Announced: June 22, 2020, 7:30 a.m.

To: Faculty & Staff
From: Environmental Health & Safety

As the University continues to work toward bringing employees—and eventually students—back to campus on a limited basis, safety is the top consideration.

Among many of the safety measures being implemented, we’ve developed a special COVID-19 in the Workplace Training and will be assigning the training to Chico State employees in the next few days. This training is part of the process to bring employees back to campus, but completing this training does NOT mean you are granted approval to return to campus.

Managers will continue to work with University administration and employees to prepare for more widespread repopulation of campus. While all employees aren’t returning to campus yet, we hope the training information is educational and helpful.

The training will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. It includes details about COVID-19, how it is spread, symptoms, advice about when to seek medical attention, how to protect yourself, actions the University is taking to protect the campus community, and what employees’ responsibilities are in ensuring their and their colleagues’ health and safety.

Once the training has been assigned, employees will receive an email notification from CSU Learn ( with a link for logging in to individuals’ training accounts.  Employees will have seven days to complete the training unless they are one of the few employees who are already working on campus or are returning to campus immediately. If you are one of these employees, we ask that you please complete the training immediately.

We hope you are well and staying healthy.
