CSU COVID-19 Vaccination Policy Update

Effective April 6, 2023, COVID-19 vaccinations are strongly encouraged, but no longer required for students and employees.

The California State University (CSU) has revised its systemwide COVID-19 Vaccinations and Other Safety Measures policy. Effective April 6, 2023, COVID-19 vaccinations are strongly encouraged, but no longer required for students and employees.

Please note that students and employees are still required to comply with all otherCalifornia Department of Public Health and University health and safety measures, including self-reporting positive COVID-19 results(opens in new window), isolating after testing positive, and wearing a mask after exposure.

Before this policy change, the unions that represent CSU employees were given the opportunity to meet and confer over the impacts, and that process has now concluded.

We are hopeful this latest policy change signals a new phase in the fight against COVID-19 and would like to thank our entire campus community for their flexibility over the last three years as guidelines have varied.

Sincerely,
Mike Thorpe, PMT Director
