Final Round of Emergency Funds for Students

Later this month, Chico State will distribute more than $14 million in Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) grants to our students.

Dear students,

For two years, the pandemic has disrupted lives and academic careers. However, our Wildcats have shown remarkable perseverance. The joyful enthusiasm displayed on campus this semester has been truly inspiring and is a reminder of what makes Chico State so special.

Later this month, Chico State will distribute more than $14 million in Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) grants to our students. This will be the final distribution of COVID-19 relief funding from the federal government. This funding may be used for education, food, housing, healthcare, childcare, and other emergency costs associated with the pandemic.

All domestic students enrolled in a program leading to a degree or a teaching credential are eligible for emergency relief funds. The Office of International Education and Global Engagement has already contacted international students, who are required to demonstrate financial need through a separate application.

Chico State will use the Pell Grant index and enrolled units to determine award amounts to students:

To ensure timely delivery of grant funds, students should enroll in e-Refund through their student center, found on the Portal. The Office of Student Financial Services will send out an email regarding the timing of the grant distribution. For more details on funding made available through the HEERF, please visit the COVID-19 Federal Aid page.

Sincerely,

Gayle E. Hutchinson
