About the Price Calculator

The Net Price Calculator is for FAFSA filers who are undergraduates. It estimates need-based financial aid eligibility and the net cost for a student attending a California State University. After entering your information, you can view an estimate of your eligibility for grants and need-based loans at Chico State.

Note: The calculator provides an estimate for full-time, first-time degree-seeking undergraduate students only. It will not provide an accurate estimate for graduate students, international students, and students who file a California Dream Act Application.

California Dream Act Application (CADAA) applicants with an affidavit on file with Admissions are only eligible for state aid and institutional aid. See the following California Student Aid Commission webpage for more information on aid eligibility: Financial Aid for Undocumented/Dreamer Students

The Net Price Calculator is not an actual application for financial aid. To receive an official award of financial aid from Chico State, you MUST complete the financial aid application process. The 2024-25 FAFSA and CADAA applications must be submitted no later than May 2, 2024 in order to obtain the most grant money possible. You only need to submit a FAFSA or CADAA application, not both.

Factors Impacting Net Cost

Your individual net cost may be lower depending on other sources of aid available such as:

  • unsubsidized loans
  • Parent PLUS loans
  • scholarships

Also, your costs may be higher depending on other financial factors such as assets and untaxed income that may affect your expected family contribution. These and other variables are not included in this calculator but are included in the FAFSA and CADAA.
