Workers' Compensation - Mandatory Reporting of Confirmed COVID Cases
California legislature passed Senate Bill (SB) 1159 on September 17, 2020 creating new reporting requirements for employers with any employee that tests positive for COVID-19. When an employer “knows or reasonably should know that an employee has tested positive for COVID-19”, the employer must report to its claims administrator specific information within three business days. To meet this state requirement, all CSE Supervisors and Managers, upon notification by a CSE employee that he/she has tested positive for COVID-19, must complete the “California SB 1159 Reporting” form below and submit via email to csehr@csuchico.edu. This reporting requirement does not apply to employees who are working from home 100% of the time.
