DEPARTMENT: SAP University Competence Center (UCC)

LOCATION: CSU Chico; Glenn Hall. This position will be eligible for partial telecommuting.

RESIDENCY: Candidate must be a California resident. Chico State Enterprises is not a sponsoring agency for staff and management positions (i.e., H-1B Visas).

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the SAP University Competence Center (UCC) technical manager. This role operates in a dynamic environment, interfacing with a diverse range of individuals and teams representing technology, academics, and administration, both internally and externally. The incumbent will collaborate closely with other College of Business (COB) SAP UCC staff, faculty, and student assistants to support SAP hosting center operations and related projects. Some travel may be required, both domestic and international; a current passport should be maintained. Travelers may also need to rent a car during trips.

Weekend Systems Monitoring and User Support: The Center for Enterprise Systems and Analytics Research (CESR) requires a qualified SAP basis administrator to provide reliable weekend support for the SAP University Competence Center, as mandated by the UCC’s contract with SAP. The basis specialist will work closely with the technical manager to ensure full and consistent weekend coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • May be required to manage and oversee student assistants.
  • Perform SAP Basis support.
  • Provide SAP system troubleshooting and timely resolution of issues.
  • Perform system exports.
  • Perform SAP user administration.
  • Monitor and performance-tune SAP instances and databases.
  • Assist faculty with SAP technical issues.
  • Support SAP UCC activities and operations.
  • Provide SAP technical help desk and UCCSS support.
  • Coordinate with other UCCs and ACCs to roll out new products and services.
  • Manage and optimize system performance for the Chico UCC.
  • Monitor storage performance.
  • Maintain VMware and operating systems.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:

COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS: 

Candidate must be in possession of valid driver's license and automobile liability insurance. Participation in the DMV Employer Pull Notice Program (driving record) is required. The candidate will be required to update their insurance with Chico State Enterprises Human Resources when necessary.
