CURE-E Course: Computer Applications in Agriculture (ABUS 231), Fall 2024

Project Title: Redesigning an Excel Class

Even with the fast development and adoption of smart devices, computer applications are still a crucial part of daily management for today’s business. A thorough understanding of the components of such systems is essential to a successful agribusiness career.

Designed for beginners, this class will guide students through the fundamental skills needed to navigate and utilize Excel confidently in everyday tasks and a successful agribusiness career in the future.

This course includes a Course-Based Undergraduate Research + Entrepreneurial Mindset (CURE-E) instructional unit. During the CURE-E, students will learn Excel and problem-solving through 8 mini-projects. This approach aims to increase students' ability (and confidence) to address real-world questions using technology. Along the way, the CURE-E will provide additional benefits, such as improving employability, building data literacy, and fostering trust in the research process.
