CURE-E Course: Introduction to Internet of Things System Design (EECE 345), first introduced with CURE-E Fall 2022

Project Title: Project Based Learning on the Internet of Things

EECE 345 course is a new course that will be offered for the first time on Fall 2022. The course is the first course on the Internet of Things IoT program certificate. The course will be using a project-based learning approach to introduce students to the Internet of Things architecture, tools, platforms, and challenges. Students will be building several IoT projects consisting of several components that sense, perceive, communicate, and react appropriately.

The project-based learning approach will allow the students to work in teams and investigate new technologies to be used in the implementation of a complete IoT system design. The course will utilize several simple projects and introduce the basic components of every IoT system. This will allow the students to investigate and research more complicated systems and propose their own system design. Every week the students will be provided with a reading assignment tailored to explore new ideas and the latest trends in technology and system design.
