Project Director
JoAna Brooks is the Project Director for the CEMUR Project. She joined the Chico State campus community in the spring of 2017 as the Mentor Coordinator for the STEMCAT Mentoring Program, a program under the Chico STEM Connections Collaborative- CSC². As the mentor coordinator, she trained and supervised upper-division student peer mentors and assisted the project evaluator in facilitating a research trial on the impact of peer mentoring. Prior to joining the campus community, Brooks served as a non-profit executive director, county government commission director, and consultant, grant writer, and project manager for the non-profit and education sectors. In her current role, she co-coordinates the Student-Faculty Research Collaborative and is a member of the Chico State 1st Gen Faculty and Staff Association. She holds a BA in Psychology and a Minor in Studio Art from CSU, Chico and a master’s in public administration from San Diego State University where she focused her graduate work on STEM education and faculty leadership. In her free time, Brooks enjoys spending time with her family hiking, cycling, and traveling.
