2009-2010 Writing Proficiency Courses
According to our records, the list (see below) of writing proficiency (WP) courses is effective for the 2009-2010 academic year. Please notify Academic Affairs of any changes.
WP courses are required upper-division courses in the content of the discipline in which students demonstrate their ability to write as professionals in the major. To graduate, students must earn a C- or better in a WP course in their major.
Enrollment in WP courses is restricted to students who have passed ENGL 130, Academic Writing, or equivalent transfer course with a letter grade of C- or better. Instructors should confirm satisfactory completion of ENGL 130 before adding students to a WP course and should include the following note on each WP course syllabus:
This is a writing proficiency (WP) course, open only to students who have completed ENGL 130 (or its equivalent) with a grade of C- or higher.
