Schedule Builder

Introduction

Schedule Builder is an online tool that allows students to easily plan their class schedules by selecting preferred courses, times, and instructors. It generates multiple schedule options based on availability, helping students find the best fit for their academic and personal needs. The system also integrates with registration, making it simple to finalize and enroll in chosen classes.

Steps to Plan & Enroll Using Schedule Builder

1. Log in to the Chico State Portal using your campus credentials.
2. Go to Student Center.
3. Navigate to ROAR (if applicable), then select Arrange Schedule Builder.
4. In Schedule Builder, you’ll see the option to Build Schedule (bottom-right).
   - If you used Degree Planner, some classes may already be pre-filled.
5. Use filters (subject, days, time, instructor etc.) to narrow available class sections.
6. Add courses to your schedule:
   - For pre-filled classes: pick a schedule and select Enroll → Add to Cart.
   - Or directly in Schedule Builder: Add Course, pick a section, then “Select Sections” → “OK”, then Build Schedule.
7. Browse alternate schedules (different time-section combinations) using the schedule views to compare options.
8. Once you find the schedule that works, make sure classes are marked in your Cart and have a green check-mark to show selection.
9. Finalize by enrolling in selected classes via the Cart / Enrollment process.
