Now Hiring: Assistant Professor of African American Studies

The Department of Multicultural and Gender Studies is now hiring a tenure-track assistant professor to teach African American studies. 

The minimum education requirement for appointment to this position is a Ph.D. or Ed.D. in a relevant discipline, with a strong research and teaching background in Multicultural/Inter-Ethnic Studies, using an intersectional lens. (Candidates nearing completion of the terminal degree may be considered.)

Additionally, candidates must demonstrate:

  • solid preparation and interest in contemporary African American issues and identities;
  • evidence of cultural knowledge of and experience with the community(ies) of study;
  • potential excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level
