      1. Suggestion to make login pages as simple as possible. Right now we have issues where there are so many options and users are not sure which login option they should be using.

      1. Needs more research if this is to be implemented. Would need a plan for users who cannot install updates, such as Mac users on managed machines, or users on older Chromebooks.

  3. Kaltura and Zoom Recording Issue
    1. Kaltura made a change on November 19th that combines multiple Zoom recordings from the same meeting into a parent/child structure
    2. This causes an issue that was not expected
    3. This was originally done to help overcome the high load on the captioning system
    4. Kaltura admin office hours provided feedback to Kaltura to revert the change
  4. LMS Data Retention Process
    1. Terms from Fall 2011 through Fall 2015 have been archived
    2. Based on the Digital Interim Policy we have a tentative plan to remove terms older than 5 years during the 2020 Christmas break
    3. We are keeping Terms from 2016 through 2020 on the system
    4. Removal would take place over two weeks starting December 23rd to minimize a performance impact to production

      3. After we add the mail.csuchico.edu associated domain new users will not be able to register for a Zoom account with Zoom.us any longer

    1. The outage fo about 20min seems to have once again been caused by the deployment of an LTI integration – Poll Everywhere
    2. The short outage also caused our integration and a variety of other processing jobs to fail for about 12 hours
    3. We have delayed the deployment of LTI Matlab to prevent further downtime
    4. Working with the vendor to find the root cause and resolve the issue
  2. Kaltura Outages Updates
    1. Kaltura has been more stable but still experiencing minor, temporary issues.

      1. This issue is mostly resolved, except for some students who used other domains to register.

      2. We are still handling individual tickets from students who created a separate Zoom account with their @mail.csuchico.edu email at zoom.us
      3. Different authentication options like Google, work email, Facebook, or apple ID might need to be turned off so users can be correctly identified with the CSU Chico domain. This needs to be done very carefully so it doesn’t create more tickets for specific use cases.

  2. Qwickly B2 Update to version 5.4.8 – Qwickly was implemented in 2018 to help faculty with sending a single announcement to multiple classes and also for quick access to Needs Grading of multiple classes. Quickly has also a variety of paid options such as attendance.
  3. Kaltura Media Space – change Guest button to Log in – On average we receive 3 tickets per week since users are not sure where to log in. Replacing the Guest button with login will hopefully resolve that.

  2. SETs(Robert) - should be ready by Monday (4-7-20). We have identified a problem where users with multiple departments are not able to view their results. Robert will be manually fixing around 300 courses to resolve the SET Course menu entry point. 
  3. Removal of Virtual Campus Banner(Robert) – We will create a smaller banner, the current one is too large. Group decision was to leave a banner, rather than removing it completely. 
  4. Zoom recording consent(Dave) – Dave went over the changes made on Friday per CO’s recommendation. Miro suggested customizing the message and show the students they have  full control over their audio and video. Robert will craft and share a custom message.

  5. SMS notifications in Blackboard
    1. Review the previous project. Ran into a problem with FCC requirement that each number loaded into BB would immediately receive an opt-out notice. Registrar and HR had strong objections to that.
    2. Who would be loaded? Can do faculty, student, staff, but we choose which of those populations get loaded in.
    3. This is opt-in via Blackboard settings. A notifications menu is hard to find.
    4. What’s the exact text of the opt-out notice? Can it be customized?
