Recent Alumna: Kylee Davis

Kylee Davis, a 2017 graduate of computer science, was featured on Inside Chico State for her work introducing coding to North State elementary and middle school girls. Davis now works at Google.

Undergraduate Research

Current students, Pedro Valdivia and William Zamora were accepted into the 2018 ACM Student Research Competition. Each submitted abstracts that summarized the research they did with Assistant Professor Kevin Buffardi during summer 2017 as part of the Chico STEM Connections Collaborative CSC^2. After peer review, they were accepted to be two of the 12 undergraduates to compete at the SIGCSE 2018 conference. They will present posters and compete with other student researchers for prizes and a chance to move onto the international stage of the SRC.

Summer Coding Bootcamp

Twenty-seven high school students were taught a 4-week summer Program Coding Bootcamp as a special Computer Science course to engage and inspire into STEM fields. Underrepresented minority groups such as women and Hispanic students were targeted. Students earned 1-unit credit from Chico State, June-July 2017
