Adam Groen, who graduated with a BA in Economics in 2017, is a financial advisor at Edward Jones in Gridley, California. Before enrolling at Chico State Adam worked for over 3 years as a packer and guide at Kennedy Meadows Resort in the Emigrant Wilderness where he took groups backpacking into the higher Sierra on horseback. In 2011 Adam left Kennedy Meadows to be a deli associate at Costco in San Jose, California, where he worked for over two years.
During the summer of 2014, Adam served as a research intern, working with the California Department of Fish and Game at the Canada de los Osos Ecological Reserve in Gilroy, California. He later presented his findings in a symposium at Gavilan College in Gilroy, California.
Adam began work as a bank teller for JPMorgan Chase and Company at the end of 2013. He enrolled at Chico State in 2016 while continuing to work for Chase. After Adam graduated from Chico State, Chase promoted Adam to personal banker, and six months later they promoted him to relationship banker.
In 2018 Chase again promoted Adam to private client banker where he continued to work for Chase until 2019 when he went to work for Edward Jones, his current employer. After serving as a trainee for 7 months, Edward Jones promoted Adam to financial advisor. Since that time Adam earned his Series 7 and Series 66 certification with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). (Last Updated 1/27/21)
