Ashleigh Hoyt(opens in new window), who graduated with a BA in Economics and the Smale Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement in 2005, teaches math and social studies at New Vista School(opens in new window) in Laguna Hills, California. In 2010 she earned her master’s degree in secondary education(opens in new window) and teaching at Pepperdine University(opens in new window) and she began teaching social studies at Ukiah Unified School District (UUSD)(opens in new window) in Ukiah, California.

In 2015 Ashleigh moved from UUSD to the Konocti Unified School District(opens in new window) in Lower Lake, California, where she taught social studies. The following year Ashleigh accepted a job as office manager for Alta Equities(opens in new window) in Tustin, California, where she worked for a year before returning to teaching at New Vista School.
