Brett Garcia(opens in new window), who graduated with a BA in Economics in 2011, is an economist and data scientist at  Positive Competition(opens in new window) in Brussels, Belgium. After graduation from Chico State Brett worked at  Montage Hotels and Resorts  in Park City, Utah as their group sales coordinator for almost 3 years. During 2015 he was an economic analyst for  Emperitas Services Group(opens in new window).    

Brett enrolled at the University of Utah(opens in new window) where he earned his MS in Economics and accepted a job as an analyst for the  National Football League(opens in new window) in Los Angeles, California in 2016.  While working on his masters Brett was the NCAA student-athlete tutor and during the first half of 2016 Brett was a research associate for the  Modellers(opens in new window).    

In 2016 Brett left his job with the National Football League to enroll in the doctoral program at the  University of Oregon(opens in new window). He worked as a graduate teaching fellow from 2016 until 2021. After finishing his PhD at Oregon, Brett accepted a position with Positive Competition where he currently works.
