Charles Masten, who graduated with a BA in Economics in 1987, is director of Institutional Research and Academic Planning at the University of California Office of the President (UCOP). After graduation Charles enrolled in graduate studies at the University of California, Davis. He earned his MS in Agricultural Economics in 1987 and his PhD. In Economics in 1992. He also worked as a research associate for Pelavin Associates from 1987 until 1991 while working on his graduate degrees.
After leaving Davis, Charles worked for the US Department of Education as a policy analyst from 1993 to 1998 when he moved on to UCOP where he currently works. His first job at UCOP was principal analyst for student financial support. After a year he was promoted to coordinator of ELC Admissions Program. In 2002 Charles was promoted to assistant director of Undergraduate Admissions and in 2008 he was promoted to manager of Accountability Analysis. He has been director of Institutional Research and Academic Planning since 2014. (Last Updated 10/28/18)
