“Of particular interest to me is how the health decisions of individuals affect others (i.e., the external effects of health behavior). The types of health behaviors I study range from choosing to receive an influenza vaccination, whether or not to go to work while sick, and even the decision to stay indoors during extreme weather,” he explains on his webpage at the Broom Center.
“My studies at Chico State fostered my interest in economics, and motivated me to pursue research in the field of economics as a career,” Corey stated in a recent email. “The concepts and tools that I learned during my undergraduate education at Chico have been essential to my success in my graduate studies. My particular focus in environmental economics during my time at Chico has had a strong influence on my research agenda to this day -- while my research today focuses on health economics, I am particularly interested in externalities in health behaviors, a concept that I learned and developed an interest in during my time at Chico.” (Last Updated 10/13/16)
