Eli Kambale

  • Graduated: 2015
  • Field: Healthcare

Eli Kambale, who graduated with a BA in Economics in 2015, is a buyer at Becton Dickinson, a firm in La Mesa, California that provides medical supplies, devices and technology.    While an undergraduate Eli worked as a student assistant to the Economics Department and as a tutor for students enrolled in courses at Chico State.  Eli also worked as a research assistant at the Center for Economic Development.

Eli began his career before he graduated as an inventory control intern with the Walmart Distribution Center in Red Bluff, California. After interning for 6 months, WalMart hired him as area manager of the Walmart Distribution Center in La Mesa, California.  He has worked for Becton Dickinson since May of 2017.

“The courses I took from the Economics Department honed my analytical skills that I continuously use to forecast the amount of cases my department will be processing to meet our production goals,” Eli stated in a recent email.  “The opportunity to collaborate with my colleagues in classes and to present our work in front of our peers enhanced my communication skills as well as my confidence, which is key to public speaking.  Econometrics was my favorite subject because it challenged me to think outside of the box.  The Economics program at Chico State and my mentors shaped me into the professional I am today.  In the future, I plan on taking more econometric courses to further enhance my analytical intuition.”  (Last Updated 5/28/18)
