Fletcher Alexander, who graduated in 2010 with a BA in Economics and an option in Environmental Economics, is sustainability manager at Stone Edge FramMicroGrid near Sonoma, California.   He also completed an M.S., Professional Science Master's: Sustainable Development and Technology at Chico in 2017. After graduation Fletcher worked for a year and a half as an Analyst and Planner with the City of Chico on the development of a community-wide 2020 Climate Action Plan

A year and one-half later, Fletcher moved back to campus as sustainability coordinator, where he worked collaboratively across campus on the development and implementation of initiatives in support of the campus’ long-term sustainability goals and on further developing the campus’ culture of sustainability.  He held this position from 2011 to 2016 when he was promoted to sustainability manager.  In 2016 he took another campus position as associate director of the Resilient Cities Initiative

Fletcher moved from his campus position to Stone Edge where he currently works in 2018.  He is responsible for management of energy and greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting, carbon offset analysis and sustainability program development for a winery operating an award-winning solar, storage, and hydrogen micro grid.

“My education in economics has been an invaluable tool in the sustainability planning and environmental accounting work I’ve done with the City of Chico and CSU, Chico,” Fletcher stated in an email.  “In particular, the ability to perform long-range cost-benefit analysis of environmental initiatives is a skill I’ve used time and again on feasibility and prioritization analyses.” (Last Updated 3/15/19)
