Frank Quintero(opens in new window), who graduated with a BA in Economics in 1987, is deputy city manager in Merced, California. 

After graduation, Frank enrolled at Virginia Tech(opens in new window) where he completed his Masters in Urban and Regional Planning(opens in new window) and Economic Development Planning(opens in new window) in 1989.  After graduation Frank moved to Merced, California, to work with a private consulting firm

In 1990 Frank accepted a position as a planner with the city of Merced. After working as redevelopment manager, economic development coordinator, and low and moderate-income housing manager, the city promoted Frank to director of economic development in 2010. 

“He also oversees the development and renovation of Downtown Merced, supervises the staff at the Merced Yosemite Regional Airport, manages the City’s real property assets, and is the point person for major rail, commercial and industrial investments, and projects.”
