Kayla Tauzer Lindgren, who graduated with a BA in Economics with an Option in Environmental Economics in 2014, is a JD candidate at the UC Davis School of Law

Kayla discovered her career path early while attending Arcata High School in Arcata, California. Kayla was a student attorney for a Teen Court program, a program sponsored by the Eureka Boys and Girls Club that imposed community service on minors who had committed crimes.    

Kayla enrolled at Chico State in 2010. During her time at Chico, Kayla volunteered as an immersion trip group leader with Community Action Volunteers in Education (CAVE) and participated in a Sacramento Valley Wetland Valuation Study for her senior thesis. Kayla help support herself in various jobs while attending Chico State, including as a busser at the Ledford House in Albion, California, a camp counselor at Redwood Adventure Camp in Mendocino, California, a sales associate at Dana Bordegaray, a clothing importer located in Cayucos, California, and a unit leader for Girl Scouts of the USA in Soda Springs, California. Kayla also worked as a group exercise instructor at the University’s Wildcat Recreation Center during her junior and senior year.  Kayla spent her last semester studying abroad in Chiang Mai, Thailand.  

After graduating, Kayla worked as an administrative assistant at The Art of Medicine in Pullman, Washington. Before entering law school Kayla was a legal assistant at Schneider, Kerr and Robichaux Law Offices in Portland, Oregon.  

During her time at University of California, Davis School of Law, Kayla received the Dean’s Merit Scholarship for academic achievement. She worked as a teaching assistant for a 1L Contracts course, as an academic tutor, and a research assistant for a book discussing consumer privacy. Kayla interned at the Sacramento City Attorney’s Office and Hirst Law Group, P.C. in Davis, CA.

Kayla also served as a member of the UC Davis Law Review and was elected to be a Senior Online Editor for the UC Davis Law Review Online during her third year. After graduation, Kayla will join Perkins Coie, LLP as an attorney in its Privacy and Data Security practice group in Palo Alto, CA. (Last Updated 12/27/20)
