Sarah Svendsen

Sarah Svendsen(opens in new window), who graduated with a BA in Economics in 2021, is the health data analyst for Nevada County Superintendent of Schools(opens in new window) in Nevada City, California.  Sarah came to Chico State in 2020 from Sierra Community College(opens in new window) where she finished her AS in Natural Sciences(opens in new window) in 2018 and her AS in Social and Behavioral Sciences in 2019. 

Sarah worked as a medical assistant for Rush Personnel Services(opens in new window) in and for Sutter North Medical Group(opens in new window) in Yuba City, California, between high school and community college.  She also worked as a mathematics tutor while attending Sierra Community College.  Sarah “worked with “instructors to bridge the gap between classroom instruction and learning outcomes” and “with students to help them understand every aspect of the Mathematics and Statistics courses,” according to her LinkedIn page(opens in new window).  She finished her BA with Honors at Chico State in one year while serving as the Economics Club president. 

“Right now I’m working on Covid-19 issues and testing, but, ultimately, my role will be to examine absenteeism and see if we can target specific demographic populations to increase attendance,” Sarah stated in a recent email.  (Last Updated 09/27/21)
