Tom Burns

Tom Burns(opens in new window), who graduated in 1976 with a BA in Economics, is president and CEO of Thorpe Specialty Services Corporation(opens in new window), an engineering and construction services company serving the petroleum and chemical industry in Houston, Texas.   From 1986 to 1988 Tom was western field sales manager for Polaroid(opens in new window).  In 1999 Tom assumed the position of president of Rubbermaid Closet and Organization(opens in new window)

In 2002 he became president of Katy Industries where he “led seven operating businesses in North America and United Kingdom “manufacturing a diverse assortment of commercial cleaning, food service, golf course maintenance, truck boxes and OEM products,” according to his LinkedIn page.    In 2004 he left Katy Industries to become president of Global Home Products(opens in new window).  He moved on from Global to become president and CEO of Jackson Safety Corporation.  In 2009 Tom signed on with Kimberly-Clark as president.  After a year and one-half with Kimberly he began work with Base Industries in Bridgeton, Missouri, as president and CEO. 

Tom opened his own consulting business, Burns Consulting(opens in new window), in 2010 which he continues to operate.  Since 2013 he also been president and CEO of Thorpe Services.  (Last Updated 7/17/17)
