    Research:

    My current research interest is algorithm design for digital signal processing (DSP) in the encrypted domain. The purpose of my research is to enable DSP in adversarial environments such as computing platforms that are vulnerable to malicious attacks. My research may find broad applications in trusted cloud computing, sensor networks, and in-vehicle embedded computing. For example, when sensor nodes in an Internet-of-Things (IoT) network measure ambient data, they lack computing resources to carry out specific tasks efficiently. The sensor nodes can outsource their data modeled as signals on a graph, with appropriate secrecy protection, to a third-party platform, such as the cloud computing platform. The cloud then finishes the data processing in a privacy-preserving manner and sends the results to the data owner. Another example is the smart grid integrated with microgrids, where the grid operator needs to protect crucial management commands against the adversary. The controllers in the microgrid may deploy several lightweight ciphers suitable for embedded systems and achieve confidentiality, integrity, and authentication.

    My broad interests include applied cryptography for digital signal processing, secure multiparty/outsourced computation, mechanism design in distributed computing, and the Internet of Things (IoT).
