Positions Available

Temporary Faculty (Lecturer) Positions

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at California State University, Chico is collecting applications for part-time and full-time temporary teaching positions.  One or more positions in the department are available for the Spring semester, which begins on January 16, 2020.  Additional positions may be available for the Fall semester, which begins on August 19, 2020. 

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering offers an ABET accredited bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, and an ABET accredited bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.  The Department has approximately 250 undergraduate majors. 

The department is in the College of Engineering, Computer Science, and Construction Management.

Minimum Qualifications: 

Applicants must have either:

  • a Master of Science or higher degree in Computer Engineering or in a related area from an accredited university by the time of employment

or

  • a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering or in a related field from an accredited university and five or more years of industry experience.

In addition, applicants must have:

  • a strong commitment to teaching with a proven record of or the potential for developing innovative pedagogical approaches to courses, labs, and projects.
  • a willingness to participate as team member to assess student outcomes and to adapt to changes in the curriculum. 
  • good oral and written communication skills.
  • an awareness of the educational goals of a diverse and multicultural population.

Preferred Qualifications:  Candidates in all areas of Computer Engineering are encouraged to apply.  Preference will be given to candidates in computer networking, digital design, embedded systems, cyber security (hardware-based), and high performance computing and to applicants with one or more years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
