The EGSC Mission

The purpose of EGSC shall be to serve as a forum for the discussion of matters pertaining to the welfare of graduate students enrolled in the Department of English at California State University, Chico.

Our mission for the 2016-2017 academic year is to facilitate the academic progress, growth, and excellence of graduate students, to improve our resourcefulness in serving between the graduate student body and the Department of English, HFA, and the University, to contribute to the recognition and integration of graduate students on campus, to foster unity among graduate students within the English Department as well as at California State University, Chico, and lastly, to build connections with the organizations and councils of other campuses.

Interested in Becoming a Member?

If you are interested in becoming an active EGSC member, please email or contact any of the officers listed here. There are many opportunities for graduate students to get involved, including attending periodic meetings, workshops, lectures, social events, and also participating in organizing events sponsored by the council (symposiums, conferences, student panels, etc.).

Any full-time or part-time graduate student enrolled in the Department of English, California State University, Chico, and not on academic or disciplinary probation, is eligible for membership. Membership dues are required, and these dues help fund academic and social events throughout the semester, including the Fall Symposium.
