First Business Manager at Chico State where he served for 19 years; did long-range planning, budgeting, and contracts; managed University Police, Business Office, Accounts Payable Office, Payroll Office, Personnel Office and Housing; in charge of charity/donations.

Developed The Chico State College Foundation; Treasurer and Manager of the Foundation; instrumental in the creation of a College Farm and successfully negotiated the location choice.

Director and membership chair for Western Association of College and Business Managers.

Served two terms on the Chico City Council for 7 years; served two terms as Vice Mayor; Chair of the Finance Committee; Chair of the City Properties Committee; Chair of the Council’s Ordinance Committee, member of the Triparite Committee involving the Council, CARD, and Bidwell Park Committee.

Active participant in numerous community organizations:  Member of Bidwell Park and Playground Commission, CARD board member, Director of Creative Arts Center, member of United California Bank Advisory Board; Board Secretary of Mt. Shasta District YMCA; member of the Tourist, Resort, and Recreation Committee of Butte County Economic Development Commission; Pioneer Day Parade “Grand Marshal.”

Active in community organizations:  Greater Chico Chamber of Commerce; member of Chico Rotary Club; President of Chico Kiwanis Club.

Elder of Bidwell Memorial Presbyterian Church.

Campership fund was established at the Chico Area Recreation District (CARD) in his memory to honor him when he passed away July 5, 1995.
