Served as executive assistant to campus presidents Glenn Kendall, Robert Hill, and Stanford Cazier (1960-72).

With professor Garrett Starmer he secured the license for an educational television station (now KIXE-PBS) in the name of the University. He spent two years as KIXE board chairman and was co-founder of campus radio station KCHO-FM.

Founding director and designer of Special Program in Communications, a forerunner to today's College of Communication.

Co-founder of the 100-member campus support group Chico State Associates.

Executive Dean for Area Services where he oversaw publicity, alumni, continuing education, placement, foundation, speaker's bureau, public events and performances, and commencement.

Chaired Butte-Glenn United Way and City of Chico Personnel Board and was first faculty member to be Chico Rotary Club president. He established the campus chapter of Alpha Phi Omega, the community service fraternity.
