Emeritus professor of geography, dean of Regional and Continuing Education, Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs.

Provided leadership for establishing and developing an external degree program and an instructional television system for Northern California, and a satellite system education network throughout the world.

Received the 1971 National Council for Geographic Education award as "Outstanding College Level Geographic Teacher."

Represented Chico State as an expert distance learning consultant and keynote speaker at state, national, and international distance education association conferences and seminars.

Consultant and evaluator for the U. S. Department of Commerce and U. S. Department of Education for their national competitive grant programs.

Represented Chico State in partnerships with community colleges, universities, and private corporations in partnerships that were mutually beneficial to all parties.

Received special honors from California and U. S. distant learning associations as an "Outstanding Pioneer in Distance Education."
